macOS can zip from the right-click menu, but the rename version is faster than it sounds: you're usually renaming the archive anyway. Type .zip at the end of a folder's name and RenameTo builds the archive in place — original folder preserved, archive named what you just typed.
It composes with the rest of the system: a folder of exports becomes Report.zip, ready to attach, in the same gesture you'd use to fix a typo.
