480p is the draft-quality workhorse: rough cuts for approval, previews attached to tickets, anything where 'can you see what happens' matters more than pixels. Of the three resolution commands it buys the most megabytes.
Like 1080p and 720p it caps the longest side proportionally and composes with a format change — clip.480p.mp4 converts and resizes in one rename.
